Debt
Current and noncurrent long-term debt components are summed only when reported for the same period. If only one component is available, the value is explicitly marked as a lower bound. Debt absence does not exclude an otherwise complete row.

Universe
The reviewed Rank.ai public-company AI infrastructure cohort with a configured SEC CIK.
Limitations
- Values are total-company reported figures, not AI-only spend or revenue.
- Capital expenditure concepts can differ in economic scope across issuers.
- Fiscal-quarter end dates differ across companies.
- Reported long-term debt is not net debt and is not a credit rating.
- CompanyFacts excludes issuer-specific extension concepts not mapped to us-gaap.
Ttm Eligibility
Four date-contiguous, non-overlapping fiscal quarters are required for both capex and revenue, and their latest period ends must match. Missing facts exclude the company; values are never estimated or zero-filled.
Concept Priority

- PaymentsToAcquirePropertyPlantAndEquipment

Flow Normalization
For each concept and exact period, Rank.ai selects the latest eligible 10-K/10-Q filing. A four-quarter flow chain must use one taxonomy concept throughout; concepts are never spliced. The most recent complete chain wins, with reviewed concept order breaking a same-period tie. Standalone quarter facts are used directly. Fiscal year-to-date and annual facts are differenced against the prior cumulative period to derive a standalone quarter. Negative derived flows are rejected.
Publication Coverage
A snapshot must retain at least five complete companies and at least 75% of the configured SEC cohort. A thinner refresh is rejected so transient collection failures cannot replace the last good publication.
Capital Intensity Formula
sum(last four standalone capex quarters) / sum(last four standalone revenue quarters)
